Somebody's sleepin in my bed..

Thanks for the well wishes in the post below.. I'm feeling a lil better, but I can't seem to shake this one totally off.. Hopefully everyone had a happy easter and didn't overdose on chocolate candies and hard boiled eggs.. If you don't have a bad case of the farts or the runs, sit yourself right down on my couch and rest for a few.. Get your relax on and have a can of coke, cuz thats about the most productive thing I did today other than going to church..

I made the effort to hardboil some easter eggs, but was too lazy to dye them (I really suck). So I tossed em in the fridge in a bowl to keep em seperate from the raw eggs.. Don't want to have any incidents of cracking a raw egg into my bowl in the morning..

Friday nite I did some volunteer work at church to setup for the kids easter egg hunt on saturday morning.. My gyrl came with me and we put in a few hours, talked some shit, had some good chicken wings, and then bounced outta there to have some strawberry lemonaide and desserts at the grille nearby.. Yeah thats real cute, bouncing from church to go to the sports-bar, but no liqua for us that night.. She's a cute lil white chick I go to school with, and it wuz hella fun to hang out with her over the weekend.. She spent the night at my crib friday nite, so in honor of the day I pulled out my Friday dvd and intoduced her to it.. Yes thats sad, the white gyrl had never seen the movie.. I explained to her that it is a black-culture classic comedy, and we got our movie watch on.. Needless to say she loved the movie, and went to sleep a happy chick that night.

Saturday after a huge bowl of hot cereal we hit the street, back to church, and hid eggs all over the place before the kids swarmed on the plastic candy-filled-eggs, like moths to a candle, fleas to a dogs ass, white folks to ban.anna-rep.ublic.. U get my drift.. Later that afternoon the homie went back home, and I headed off to do some grocery shopping.. I got sidetracked by my favorite spot in the hood "harolds" and had to grab myself some chicken. When I got home I got online and had a long and funny convo with her by IM..

Last night I had some very welcome company in my bed.. He's such a cutie, caramel toned, curly hair, soft and huggable.. Lawd knows it's not the company most chicks dream about, but I went to bed so happy and comforted knowing he was there laying at my side.. Smiles.. my mom got me the cutest little tan fuzzy stuffed sheep for easter.. I'm goinna take a picture of him pretty soon.. I named him lambchop and tucked him in my bed last night.. Ummmmm I didn't say it wuz a guy, so get yer dirty minds out tha gutter.. me and my lambchop are going to be the best of bed-partners.. He won't complain about my hogging the sheets, he won't tap me on the shoulder when I snore, and he's so darn cute..

(lawd I really need to date more often, don't I)

Tha Ultra-bytch is commin to get me Tuesday..

Yet again i've got a cold.. A real bad one this time.. Started off with a tickle in the throat, and progressed to a congested nose, liquidy lungs, and then a neverending river of mucus from the nose.. I swear i'm goinna start wearing a surgeons mask to work and plastic gloves too, cuz the snot-nosed kids in the classroom are causing havoc on my immune system..

My spring break wuz over this week, got a midterm tomorrow that I have not even began to study for yet, and i'm so not worried about it.. Matter fact, I have not opened or laid eyes on that damn book in about a month.. Yes i'm a slacker this semester, i've got senior-itis like a bitch and there is no cure in sight.. I know what i'll be doing tomorrow, i'll have my nose buried so deep in that book i should have ink smudges on my nose hairs.

Shit's been pretty routine with me lately, what can I say.. I've been off work all this week, and won't have to lay eyes on that place till next Tuesday *yippie* That leaves me more time to do some creative thinking, sleeping, slacking, and ohhhhhh yeah studying for another midterm next tuesday, which I predict will chew me up and spit me out for dinner.. I may not be worried about the one Thursday, but Tuesday's test has a name, and her name is ultra-bitch.. She carries a hit.ori-ha.nzo sword like the k.ill-b.ill-chick and ain't afraid to use it.. I suppose i'll be stuck at home all this weekend studying.. ay yi yi

The killer suit.. i'll cut ya

I'm a bit frustrated with the way things have been going in my job hunt.. I definately dont want to wait till the last minute and start looking. I'm graduating in My and want to have something in the works or secure by then.. I've been surfing the usual online sites and applying for everything I can possibly click on.. No luck yet.. I went to a job fair this tuesday, and boy did it suck. All of the gigs there revolved around phone sales or some other telemarketing bs. Today I went to meet with a placement councelor at my old school, and I told her about the sucky job fair. She had also heard about how terrible it was and shook her head in disgust.. so the hunt goes on, i'm applying like madd, and i've got the councelor sending me leads and getting interviews for me.. I'm confident things will work out really good and i'll be able to post about my hott new gig pretty soon.

God is good.. so good.. too good.. Blessings drop down on ya in all kinds of unexpected ways.. This guy at my moms job who resells merchandise brought in a whole sack of dress shoes and sandals in my size.. Fortunately the other ladies at moms gig have big feet and couldn't fit the 8's he brought in.. She brought me home 4 pairs of beautiful shoes, one pair in particular will look great with my new interview suits.. He said that he was trying to get rid of them, and gave them to her.. Now how often does one get 4 pairs of beautiful designer shoes dropped off on em for free.. Not very often at all.. Now this is the same guy who gave my mom a fur coat, a leather coat, and sold us a microwave and tv for 20 bucks total. Dude always come through with some good stuff. I'm going to have to make it to his store one of these dayz.

Speaking of the interview suits, I must stress that everyone should have at least one "killer suit" in their closet.. A big part of the job getting process is appearance and ya can't slack off on the interviewing gear.. A few weeks ago I did some major shopping and got some killer suits.. I feel like a confident executive in the gear, and have that look that says "i'll kill my competition and chew their bones for this job" A sleek, professional dark colored pants suit with a big splash of color in the shirt/cami under the jacket, and some color in the purse and dark shoes is the way to go.. Just had to put that out there cuz lawd knows I saw some major hott ass messes at the job fair.. Sistas showed up in jeans and a sweater, skirts so short n tight it looked like they were going to sell azz on the corner, sweatpants, and a variety of other non-professional nonsense.. I mean damn if ya can't get a killer suit, at least throw on a black skirt and white blouse, errybody should have one of those, it's a church outfit right.. lol

Luck o'the negro

Forgive me if i'm just slightly annoyed by the negroes I spotted donning green hats, beads and shamrocks for St.Pat.s day cuz the parade wuz today.. I mean come on thats a day of the year that has absoloutely nothing to do with "the blacks" so why participate in the festivities.. I had a talk wit my mom on how they had us kids so brainwashed and whitewashed back in the day.. I can clearly recall being in grade school and having to wear green on that day, competing with the other kids on who had the best green outfit, cutting out shamrocks, and making plans to go to the parade. And i'm sure that in schools across america lil black kids in all black schools wore green and cut out shamrocks to celebrate the day..

Not to be offensive to the irish folks, be proud, do your thing, and enjoy, but "the blacks" are the first ones to look @ cha all kinds of sideways and get salty if you call em African or suggest they put on some african clothing to celebrate their own damn heritage.. Lil black kids can't tell ya nothing about africa other than thats where the slaves came from, but are shamrocking it up and puckering up to kiss the blarney stone.. Ain't that a bitch..

I told mom that if somebody walked up on one of those irish folks and called em anythang other than irish that they would probably haul off and knock the teef outta somebody's mouth.. Standing there dressed up in all their irish green glory, drunk as a skunk, shamrock hats and whatnot, things would be violent as hell if I called one of em Chinese or Greek.. But "the damn blacks" will knock ya in the mouth for callin em anything remotely in the region of Africa.. "I'm an american damnit" (yeah but so is that Irish guy with the shamrock hanging outta his ass, talkin bout kiss me i'm irish) Errybody else is proud of their heritage, gotta damn near beat "black folks" over the head with a kente-cloth belt before they even think about being proud to be African.

Perhaps i'm just a lil testy cuz black folks don't get a parade, and if we did it would probably be extra ignant.. Folks would be gettin crunk when LilJohn's float went by, and there would be a random shooting or sum shit.. Fantazia would probably sing that babymommaanthem for all the single mommas at the parade and somebody would get mad and cuss out their babydaddy on the celly.. All kinds of random ruckus would occur.. So I guess its good "the blacks" don't have a special holiday and parade.. But I damn sure won't be kickin it dressed in a green kilt at other folk's parade.. Until we get Kunta-kente day and can march down the street in african garb, it's just not going down with me.
